Las Vegas, the largest city in the state of Nevada, is known by its bright lights and entertaining adventures. It earned its nicknames “Sin City” and “Entertainment Capital of the World” for many reasons. In the midst of the southern Nevada desert landscape, this city has plenty of giant hotels and casino complexes with names and themes that seem to attract any kind of person interested. Temperatures in Las Vegas can go up as high as 100 degrees with much cooler winters and springs (snow is rare).

There is history in this wild city, but it wasn’t always as wild as it is today. Actually, when Las Vegas was founded in 1905, it started out as a small settlement. Fortunately, many events took place to make what Vegas is today. The Hoover Dam construction in 1928 brought employment, Nevada legalized gambling in 1931, and El Rancho Vegas opened its doors a decade later which became the Las Vegas Strip.

Las Vegas1Since gambling was still illegal in California at that time, many Californian workers went to Las Vegas for gambling purposes. Now, tourists can afford cheap flights to Vegas at an affordable cost to visit these sights.

Las Vegas2The “Strip”, or Las Vegas Boulevard South, is made up of casinos, shopping malls, and other fantastic places of enjoyment. At the northern end of the strip there is the tower known as the Stratosphere Tower. It is the tallest observation tower in the United States with more than 100 floors. There are spas, salons, restaurants, and even a wedding chapel!
