World Water Park in Edmonton
World Waterpark is the world’s largest indoor waterpark (under one roof) with a size of roughly six acres. The World Waterpark opened to public in 1986. It is located in the West Edmonton Mall in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It has a maximum capacity of 40,000 guests, an average temperature for the water of 30-33 °C (86-89 °F), and is the world’s largest indoor wave pool holding 12.3 million litres.
The highest slides in the park are Twister and Cyclone, which are both 83 feet (25 m) high.
Kalahari Indoor Waterpark
The Kalahari Resort and Convention Center is a water park resort chain with locations in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin and Sandusky, Ohio. At 173,000 square feet, the indoor water park at Kalahari’s Ohio resort is the largest in the United States.
The Kalahari Resort is named after the Kalahari Desert in southern Africa, hence the African theme at all the resorts. The lobbies have artificial fountains, trees, and animals. Special African-themed events, such as getting photographed with baby tigers, are also held. Most of the water slides in the water parks are named after African animals, such as the Rippling Rhino and the Wild Wildebeest.

Great Wolf Resorts is the world’s largest chain of indoor water parks which owns and operates its family resorts under the Great Wolf Lodge brand. The company is headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin.
Great Wolf Lodge was founded by brothers Jack and Andrew “Turk” Waterman, the original owners of Noah’s Ark water park. The first Great Wolf Lodge location opened in 1997 in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. The chain has since added ten additional locations with two more currently in development. In addition to a water park, each resort features specialty restaurants, arcades, spas, fitness rooms and children’s activity areas.
Splash Lagoon Indoor Water Park
Splash Lagoon Indoor Waterpark Resort is a Polynesian-themed large indoor waterpark located in Erie, Pennsylvania. On September 17, 2011, after years in the planning, the 30,000 square foot wave pool opened to the public, making Splash Lagoon the third largest indoor water park in the country.
The park is approximately 80,000 square feet. It features seven water slides, two hot tubs, one large activity pool, and a children’s area. The tiki tree house is four stories high and offers many activities. It is located on sprawling Upper Peach Street with many restaurants and retailers nearby. Connected to a Holiday Inn, Residence Inn, and a Comfort Inn; with many other hotels within a few miles.
